20th Century Fox


The company, 20th Century Fox, was founded on May 31, 1935, as the result of of Fox Film Corporation, and Twentieth Century Pictures, founded in 1933, merging together.  William fox started off by buying a 'common show' - an exhibition of motion pictures. His growing number of patrons sat closely together, on folding chairs, and watched simple short films. His next project was to open a film exchange. It offered people to watch new movies and for exhibitors to trade films. In 1933, William Fox quickly organized the Box Office Attraction Company and began producing movies of his own.Two years later William Fox decided that California would be his next move and by 1955, Fox film corporation was founded.



     


20th Century Fox's most popular film franchises include Avatar, Star Wars, Ice Age, Garfield, Alvin and the Chipmunks, X-Men, Die Hard, Alien, Speed, Revenge of the Nerds, Planet of the Apes, Home Alone, Dr. Dolittle, Night at the Museum, Predator, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and The Chronicles of Narnia,The Beach, plus famous TV shows such as The Simpsons, Family Guy, and American Dad.
